
LIBRARY GUIDES

Library privileges shall be extended to the following:
- 1. CLSU students
- 2. CLSU administrators, faculty and staff members
- 3. CLSU alumni with valid ID
- 4. Institutions with which CLSU has special library arrangements and government agencies within the area such as PhilRice, PCC, PhilMech, BFAR, DOST (CLSU) and others.
- 5. All members of the CLSU Board of Regents.
- 6. All others upon payment of ₱ 30.00 per day.
- 1. Countersigning of students ID is done every semester and mid-year term. Office of Admission (OAD) form 6 is required to show proof of enrollment.
- 2. A duly countersigned CLSU ID is required for all students using the library.
- 3. All authorized users must present IDs.
- 4. All others must present IDs and a request letter from their agencies/institutions.
- 1. All currently enrolled students, faculty and permanent staff must have an activated Library User Account to borrow books for home reading.
- 2. Countersigned student ID is required in Library User Account creation and activation at the Circulation Desk.
- 3. Activation of Library User Account is done every semester and mid-year term.
General Rules for Home Use:
Undergraduate students:
- 1. Three books and one fiction book at a time for one week at the General Circulation Sections which can be renewed for another week if the book is not needed by another client.
- 2. One book each at the Filipiniana Section and Reserve Section for overnight use.
Graduate students:
- 1. Five books and one fiction book at a time for one week at the General Circulation Sections which can be renewed for another week if the book is not needed by another client.
- 2. Two books each at the Filipiniana and Theses Collection Section and Reserve Section for overnight use
NOTE: One week before final exams, books are for room use only.
General Circulation Books
- ● May be charged out for one week and can be renewed for another week if the book/s is/are not placed on hold by another client.
- ● Borrowable anytime within the day.
Filipiniana, Theses and Dissertations
- ● Theses and dissertations are for room use only.
- ● Photocopying of thesis and dissertation is within the library only and it is limited to abstracts and bibliographies.
- ● Picture taking of thesis and dissertation contents are prohibited.
- ● Books with multiple copies may be borrowed for overnight use from 3:00 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. from Monday to Friday and 3:00 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. during Saturday.
- ● Overnight loans must be returned the following working day between 7:00 to 9:00 A.M.
Reserve Books
- ● Reserve books are to be borrowed in the Reserve Area on a rate per hour during the day and maybe renewed unless another reader needs it, in which case the Section In-charge shall recall the book.
- ● Overnight loans are on a first come, first serve basis.
- ● Overnight use of Reserve books may be borrowed between 3:00 P.M. to 5:45 P.M. from Monday to Friday and 3:00 P.M. to 4:45 P.M. during Saturday.
- ● Overnight loans must be returned the following working day between 7:00 - 9:00 A.M.
Serials
- ● All serial materials are for room use and may be photocopied within the library only.
- ● Bound Serial collections are in open shelves while loose Serials are in closed shelves.
- ● Room use for loose serials is limited to three titles at a time.
Reference Materials
- ● Room use only; may be photocopied.
- ● All Reference materials are for room use and maybe photocopied within the library only, however, class demonstration materials may be charged out for one hour.
- ● All non-print materials are for room use only and must be viewed in the computer provided within the section.
- ● One computer login is allowed per student and computers may not be reserved for other students.
- ● One chair is allowed per workstation.
- ● Students must supply their own USB drives in order to save their work. Anything stored on the computer shall be deleted whenever it is rebooted.
- ● Students are not authorized to unplug cables such as mouse, keyboard, monitor or network cable from the back of computers and should report any non-functional computer to the Section In-charge.
- ● Playing computer games that are not course work related is not allowed. Students playing computer games will be asked to close the game and leave the section.
- 1. Faculty members are allowed to borrow five books from the general collection and may be kept for one month or at most, a semester. However, books which are requested by other borrowers may be recalled by the library. Upon recall of library materials they should be returned immediately. Failure to comply shall be dealt with accordingly. A fine of ₱ 10.00 per book per day including Sundays, Holidays and non-office hours shall be charged. A second notice shall be issued after three days copy furnished the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean where the faculty belong.
- 2. For permanent Administrative Staff, two books may be borrowed at one time for a period of three days. A fine of ₱ 10.00 per book per day including Sundays, Holidays and non-office hours shall be charged if they fail to return the book/s on time.
- 3. Reserve and Filipiniana books may be circulated among faculty members for overnight use, to be returned the following office day.
- 4.The faculty member’s record is to be cleared at the end of each semester or mid-year term.
